JRA's Groceries Direct Program provides high-need individuals and families with additional support through the purchase and delivery of perishable food items. The program is great for volunteers seeking to help through a no-contact opportunity.
Below, you will find descriptions of the families enrolled in this program. Once you decide which family to shop for, follow the link below and submit the form. Once you submit, you will receive further details and instructions in your email.
Household Aleph includes one Holocaust Survivor. The individual is living alone and does not have family members that they can count on for support. They are requesting fresh fruits and veggies.
Household Bet includes a disabled senior living in a motel. They only have a microwave with which to cook. They are requesting shelf-stable items.
Household Gimel includes a family of four. They are requesting kosher foods that they can prepare for Shabbat.
Household Dalet includes a family of five. They are requesting kosher foods that they can prepare for Shabbat.
Household Hey includes a family of 3. They only have a countertop oven, which doesn't work very well. They are requesting kosher foods that they can prepare for Shabbat.
Household Vav includes a disabled individual with debilitating Lupus. They are unable to get out of the house and to the supermarket. They are requesting basic items like cheese, bread, and eggs.
Household Zayin includes a senior living alone. They are unable to shop for themselves due to the pandemic. They are requesting fresh fruits and veggies and cheese.
Household Chet includes an elderly couple isolated to their home because of the pandemic. Getting to a grocery store is extremely difficult for them.
Household Tet includes a single parent with 2 young children. They do not have family in the area to help out. The financial strain from the pandemic has caused this family to seek food assistance for the first time.
Household Yud includes a family of 4. Covid has caused additional financial strain on their family because the children are not receiving meals and snacks from school.
