From generation to generation, Dor L’Dor, JRA has stood as a bridge between those who can help and those who need it most. Since 2000, the Jewish Relief Agency has brought together thousands of volunteers from diverse ages, backgrounds, and neighborhoods to combat hunger in Greater Philadelphia. What started with three volunteers delivering food to 19 families has grown into a community of 21,000 volunteers delivering 13.5 million pounds of food to over 20,000 clients.
Twenty-five years from that first distribution, the need continues to grow. Cuts to SNAP and Medicaid will affect more than 55,000 of our neighbors, but JRA is committed to showing up for everyone. Each month, we serve over 6,500 individuals, including children, seniors, and Holocaust survivors, providing nutritious food, fresh produce, and essential items such as diapers, menstrual products, and school supplies — items not covered by SNAP but vital for everyday dignity.
At JRA, volunteerism is a tradition passed down through families, from infants to 95-year-olds, from parent to child, grandparent to grandchild. When you give, serve, or champion JRA, you're not just helping someone today; you're building a legacy of compassion. Now is your time to step in, speak up, and pass it on.
JRA's 2025 Annual Event: Dor L’Dor- Celebrating 25 Years of JRA will take place on Tuesday, December 2nd.
