Period Packs Project

Individuals across Greater Philadelphia are experiencing period poverty. 

This past year, 1 in 4 women struggled to purchase period supplies due to financial limitations. 

JRA is aiming to be part of the solution by launching the Period Packs Project.

Households with menstruating aged individuals can now opt-in to receive free supplies delivered directly to their doorstep alongside their monthly box of food. 

JRA’s recipients are some of the most impacted by Covid-19 and soaring inflation, forced to make tough choices like paying rent, buying groceries or purchasing menstrual products.

Menstrual equity is a basic equity issue. Just as we have made toilet paper and paper towels in public restrooms available, so too should we do the same for menstrual products. No student should have to miss school, no adult should have to miss work, and no person should have to miss out on daily life because they are unable to afford the basic necessities they require to thrive.
