Tickets for our in-person Annual Event to End Hunger are SOLD OUT. Thank you to our incredible supporters! You can still get involved by giving to our Come Together, Right Now campaign or by joining The Reunion Tour at the JRA Warehouse for our monthly food distributions.
Throughout the pandemic, JRA worked tirelessly to ensure that nobody who depended on us for food would go without. Yet, because of necessary social distancing, JRA's unique model of mass volunteerism was suspended. There is nothing like the feeling of community in the JRA warehouse when so many of us - from all ages, affiliations, and backgrounds - get together to help our brothers and sisters in need.
To rekindle community connection, we’re rounding up our friends and family to bring the band back together!
Mark your calendars for JRA's 2022 Annual Event to End Hunger, Come Together Right Now: The JRA Reunion Tour on Wednesday, November 9th at 6:00 PM. The tour continues at the JRA Warehouse at our monthly food distributions, which provide nourishment directly to the doorsteps of 6,500 individuals, including 320 Holocaust survivors and 770 children every month. To meet the rising demand for our services, our volunteers are needed more than ever. Let’s Come Together. Right Now.
JRA's 2022 Annual Event to End Hunger: Event Hosts
Rachel and Adam first volunteered at JRA back in 2014. They introduced their two young children to the mitzvah of JRA before they could even walk! Nowadays, the family volunteers by packing food during our JRA Juniors program, whizzing down the assembly lines, and delivering boxes to families in need. The Schupacks are committed to instilling Jewish values in their children, teaching kindness, active citizenship, and generosity.
Jon Schwartz and his family are some of JRA’s longest volunteers, joining the family in 2008. With a vision for how to engage young leaders, Jon helped develop JRA’s Leadership Academy program during his time as a board member. Leading the inaugural class, Jon’s curriculum and vision continue to inspire the current program, which will be welcoming its fifth class next year.
A young and hard-working Philadelphia lawyer, Benjamin prioritizes giving back to his community. As a graduate of JRA’s Leadership Academy inaugural class, Ben became more involved in serving as a leader at JRA. In addition to regularly volunteering at monthly food distributions, he recently contributed his legal experience to an important JRA project. Ben is a quiet leader with a big heart, always eager to jump in and offer a helping hand.
Supporting and strengthening community are key pillars in Lisa and Brett’s lives. A long-time volunteer family, you can trace the Studner's JRA involvement all the way back to the very first JRA warehouse, packing food and delivering boxes to Jewish seniors in need. Since then, they have been avid supporters of the Jewish community, serving in leadership roles in multiple organizations. In Brett’s own words, “it’s your responsibility to give back to the community - and you get back more than you give.”
After volunteering at JRA with his Hebrew school class, Justin was hooked, encouraging his family to volunteer at monthly food distributions and completing his Bar Mitzvah service project with us earlier this year. Passionate to do more for the community, this outstanding middle-schooler organized his own collection drive, donating canned tuna and salmon, cleaning supplies, and additional funds to JRA in support of our recipient families.
A high school student, Leah is a true role model for young volunteers in our community. In addition to encouraging her family and friends to volunteer at monthly food distributions, she also organized a large backpack and school supply drive for JRA recipient families in 2021. Because of Leah’s determination, creativity, and hard work, 120 low-income children in our community were given the tools they needed to thrive.
